At the time of India tour you have to visit the Taj Mahal. It is undoubtedly an essential in India and the most touristy place in the country.
After hearing thousands of times the love story behind the Taj Mahal, we decided to visit it. In 1983 it was declared a National Heritage by UNESCO.
It was built between 1631-1654 by Emperor Shah Jahan, in memory of his beloved wife, Mumtaz Mahal who died in the delivery of his 14th daughter.
You can not get there directly by car or coach because to protect it from contamination, it is forbidden to drive near the monument. There are many experts who say that the Taj Mahal dies due to the great pollution to which it has been subjected.
The doors that surround the Taj Mahal are beautiful, just as the gardens are very well maintained. As usual, it is full of tourists from the country itself and from many places in the world, so it is better to go first thing in the morning. In any case, despite the large number of visitors, it is a place where one can find some peace, that peace that in India is difficult to achieve.
From the main door you can get the best photo of the most famous monument in India , when we left we could not stop looking at it, trying to retain the most beautiful image of a country we will not return to.
In the slumdog millionare movie it is seen as children steal tourists’ shoes. Since then, they no longer make you leave your shoes and give you a kind of peucos to cover your shoes and not dirty the immaculate marble.
With the entrance that is paid, they give you a bottle of “theoretically” mineral water, we say theoretically because when we went to drink it it was from the tap. And that in India is highly dangerous! Proof of this the fevers that came in the later hours.
