Thanks to advancements in technology, digital content now reaches more than a million people every day in thousands of forms, types, and channels. There are a lot of digital content floating around.

Some may be made just to entertain people such as memes, YouTube videos, fan arts, and more. Others are used to drive brand awareness and to generate leads for businesses.

Content marketing strategies are often used for businesses that want to generate more leads as much as possible. They should provide value to the visitor but still persuade them to convert into a customer.

With that said, here are some of the marketing trends in 2018 to keep in mind when running digital campaigns:

Media and PR

Brands are now actively acting like media and public relation companies in order to keep up with brand exposure. Some brands may actually use YouTube blogs, podcasts, interviews, and more. They operate similar to some media companies that put out regular content in order to grow the number of their fan-base.

Most of the time, marketers always aim to be more visible on search engines and on social media and they tend to over optimize for the machines crawling the content. The focus should still be on humans reading the content itself. The formatting can seem off and that could also push away customers and potential customers.

Data-Based Campaigns

There are a lot of tools available to read analytics and data. Analyzing them will give the brand a big advantage as they would know what is working for their brand and what is not. They can then use the insight to adjust the campaigns appropriately.
